After about a minute and half of doo-wop scatting, they get into some tight funky soul that should put a grove in your ass (which is a good thing), but eventually abandon it in favor of another three and a half minutes of scat.  I can’t defend their decision to scat for about 2/3 of the song, but at least there’s a 1/3 that’s straight prime cut funk.
